In Horse Girls, twelve-year-old Ashleigh rules the Lady Jean Ladies, an exclusive South Florida horse club where friendship, status, obsession, and control are braided together with terrifying precision. When the girls learn that Ashleigh’s family stables may be sold and their beloved horses killed for meat, their club meeting spirals into a darkly funny crisis of loyalty, power, and middle-school desperation. By Jenny Rachel Weiner. 60 minutes, no intermission. Ages 16+.
